Any non-profit organization is able to apply for Funding at the beginning of each calendar year with the completion of an Allocation Package. The Allocations committee is comprised of several United Way board members and several community members at large. Based on the applications received, this committee then decides who to approve and how much. Their decision is based on how closely the application matches our focus areas and also what the financial health of United Way is at the time. There is a follow-up report required from each funded organization before they receive the final portion of their annual allocation as to the community impact their organization and our funding provides. This enables us to monitor how effective our funding is and if we are allocating to partners that are in fact making a difference within the community.
